About the Fast

Now it’s your turn!

How many times have you tried to change your habits, behavior and way of thinking?

Too much information and worries disturb our minds, and can influence how we go about our daily lives.

Every day, we are contaminated by news which shows the sorry state our society is in. Music that makes us feel a certain way, movies that praise betrayal, revenge, robberies and violence, which take us away from what is really important.

The fast of Daniel

According to the dictionary, a fast means to ‘abstain’ from all or some kinds of food or drink.

Throughout the Bible, there are many references to fasting. Be it in the Old or New Testament, there are many times that a single person or a group of people have come together to fast for a cause.

Fasting is a way of showing God our aim. We get closer to God when we fast, because everything is done to consecrate our body and soul.

However, to think that fasting means to abstain from food only – is misleading, as it is much more than that. It is a physical and spiritual detox. So, whoever decides to do a fast is depriving themselves of all that is excess, or anything which may contaminate the body or soul – be it food, attitudes or useless information.

Have a goal in mind. There are many reasons why people fast. It may be in a protest or strike, as a challenge or, even, for medicinal or health related reasons!

However, the main reason why people fast is, above all, religious.

The UCKG HelpCentre is promoting the sixth Fast of Daniel, which aims to bring everyone closer to God. The purpose of the 21-Day fast is based on the story of the prophet Daniel who, when felt wronged, decided to fast. For 21 days he abstained from food and drink which contaminated the body, such as, meat and wine, in favour of an answer from God.

From 23rd September – 13th October, all UCKG HelpCentres worldwide, will be fasting, not only from food, but from everything which can contaminate the soul, including radio, TV, newspapers, Internet, music, etc.

We will dedicate ourselves only to spiritual edification for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

The Fast of Daniel is your chance to be born of God and to have a real encounter with the Creator. If you want to grow spiritually or to receive the seal of the Holy Spirit to have a complete transformation, then this is the time!

The 21-Day Fast of Daniel for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

23rd September – 13th October, at your Local UCKG HelpCentre.
